First Steps-Learn and Play

Baby Steps – (2-6 Months):

Promotes muscle and brain development, body awareness and child/caregiver bond through the introduction of thoughtfully chosen stimuli such as massage, sensory stimulation, and tummy time.

First Steps, 1-5 – (6 Months-5 Years):

Movement classes that promote physical, cognitive and social development through the use of age appropriate themed circuits that encourage sequencing. Opening and closing circle time helps to build attention spans, body awareness and socialization. Activities become progressively more challenging as children move through class levels: Steps 1-5!

Family Steps – (18 Months-5 Years):

A First Steps class that is designed so that the whole family can learn and play together! All activities can be modified so that a child of any age can be involved and active.

First Scribbles Art

Scribbles, 1-4 – (14 Months-5 Years):

Art classes that promote creativity, imagination and socialization through gently guided and thoughtfully planned lessons. Activities are balanced between individual art and large scale group projects to encourage both self-expression and cooperation. All classes emphasize process over product to ensure little ones are able to explore their own creative process.

Family Scribbles – (18 Months-5 Years):

A First Scribbles class that is designed so that the whole family can learn and play together! All activities can be modified so that a child of any age can be involved and active.

First Notes Music

Notes, 1-3 – (6 Months-24 Months):

Fully interactive music classes that utilize exploration through theory and song based activities. Diverse themes help children develop an appreciation for different musical genres while learning dynamics, pitch and rhythm through fun and accessible games and actions.

Music Composition – (2-5 Years):

A music class that builds upon music theory elements and encourages and guides little ones through the process of creating their very own songs. Composing builds teamwork, socialization and imagination, while encouraging developing vocabulary and early math skills.

Family Notes – (6 Months-5 Years):

A First Notes class that is designed so that the whole family can learn and play together! All activities can be modified so that a child of any age can be involved and active.

First Stage Theater

My First Stage – (2-5 Years):

A theater class that provides a fun and engaging way to integrate literacy and drama. Each week children will read and then act out a story using the “actors’ tool box” to develop reading comprehension, vocabulary, creative problem solving and cooperation in an artistic and exciting environment.

My First Classroom (MFC)

First Five’s preschool alternative program is based on a well-rounded curriculum that utilizes physical activity, art, themed centers, S.T.E.A.M. projects and Handwriting Without Tears programming to engage and inspire little minds while preparing them for ongoing school.

Separation Prep – (18 Months-24 Months):

An introduction to the classroom! Children attend with a caregiver. This 90-minute class starts with 45 minutes of a First Steps class followed by 45 minutes of classroom time including: welcome circle, art and story time, all built around the theme of the week. As children become comfortable with the facility and classroom structure they graduate on to MFC 2’s.

MFC 2’s:

A first separation class, children attend without a caregiver. This 90-minute class starts with 45 minutes of class time including: welcome circle, art and story time, all built around the theme of the week. This is followed by a 45 minute First Steps class. Separation is aided by the familiarity of the space and structure from Separation Prep.

MFC 3’s:

2 hours of a traditional preschool style class includes opening and closing circles, art, early science, math and handwriting as well as lots of music and physical activity, all built around the theme of the week. Excellent student to teacher ratio allows for individual attention while still encouraging group focus and cooperation.

MFC 4/5’s:

This 3-hour class builds on the skills learned in MFC 3’s. This “Big Kid Class” is great preparation for Kindergarten as we add more complex S.T.E.A.M. projects, public speaking, handwriting and social skills to our themed projects as well as 45 minutes of physical fitness. Excellent student to teacher ratio allows for individual attention while still encouraging group focus and cooperation.
